Abstract Doll….
I wanted to challenge myself to create a series of abstract paintings…as an Artist with and illustrative style I thought it would be exciting to challenge myself….
I’m delighted with how the first one has come out, obviously I worked from one of my former doll pictures, but this one tells a whole new story…

Drawing day at the Museum of Childhood
I spent this afternoon at the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, filling my little sketchbook with drawings of inspirational toys.
This Museum has been my favourite and most visited for many years and a great deal of my signature pieces such as ‘Space Doll’ have been pieced together from collections of drawings taken here.
Vintage Toys evoke a great many memories of days spent daydreaming of phantasmagorical worlds in which animals and toys could talk to me…..toys weren’t so interactive children of the past had to use their imagination……
I feel in this day and age contemporary dolls have lost their charm and character….
Business Cards
A new batch of business card arrived from Moo.com today….I think they look rather lovely!
Window paintings
My window paintings at Petit Miracles are looking super vibrant…so many stories are appearing on the glass as it develops…
Illustration Transition
Just having a gander at some of my original ink drawings, all of my illustrations are drawn by hand and then painted or worked into using the computer…
Space Doll Cushions
Photo of two of my “Space Doll” cushions in new home, sent in from a lovely fan today…. x
Painting the Escalators…..
One of the most fun jobs I’ve ever done has to be painting the escalators in West12 for Petit Miracles…admittedly standing and drawing at the top of a still escalator was rather dis-orientating…
