About, Commissions and Exhibitions

Hello, I’m Veronica and I’m an East London based Artist, Illustrator and Surface Pattern Designer.

This is my story:

I completed my first degree in Surface Pattern Design (Textiles for Fashion) from the University of Wales in 2009 with 1st Class Honours and completed a Master’s Degree in Communication Design (Illustration) from Kingston University in 2017.

As a nostalgic individual who hoards copious amounts of kitsch, vintage ornaments as they’re too ‘cute’ to throw away, the ethos and research behind my personal work is the concept of a ‘universal trigger for the inner-child in adults’, (in other words, my aim in create quirky, delightful artworks which make the viewer feel nostalgic) vintage dolls and depictions of soft transitional objects are a recurring theme throughout my work.

Throughout my research I have come to realise that a touch of melancholy/bitter sweet and the handmade is integral to the viewer in developing a strong attachment and lasting impression to the particular object.

I create original artworks, Ltd Edition prints, cushions and large scale community outreach projects/commissions- adding a splash of colour and childlike charm to interior and exterior spaces.

As well as my personal artworks and lifestyle range my clients have included:

Taylor Wimpey Homes

West 12 Centre

Petit Miracles Hub

Healthy Planet

Rosetta Art Centre

Potential Productions (final posters put up inside London buses).
