So as mentioned on my last blog update, I’ve been a super busy bee of late creating new pieces for an abundance of Christmas Pop-Up-Shops which are coming up.
My aim has been to create accessible lifestyle pieces and affordable Artworks so my work can be accessible to all! I have been taken out of my comfort zone…..yesterday was in The London Bead Company in Kentish Town buying pliers and all manner of Jewellery making nick nacks (the staff were friendly and extremely helpful) – useful as I have an array of painted wooden beads but unsure of the next steps.
Here’s a sneak peak at some of jewellery the pieces so far (just need a varnish and will be made in bracelets, necklaces & Kitsch earrings:
‘Duck Friend’ – Earrings
Mini Hand painted Vase
I’m also going to create a few small Artworks and Ltd Edition Giclee Prints
‘The Tree Of Life & Growth’
Here are two of the events You’ll find me at alongside a host of talented creatives:
Live Christmas Project (6th- 21st December 14)
Also taking part in this exciting project are talented Artists (& Friends)
Anu Samarüütel & Marina Ard I’ve exhibited alongside both at Debut Contemporary Gallery and absolutely adored the work they create: Anu’s striking, colourful Illustrations & products fill me with joy and Marina’s intricate late Prints & Paintings are stunning!
So I was delighted when Marina asked me if I’d be interested in taking part in this project
I had an email from the people behind the ‘KYD’ Cut Up Exhibition showing some extremely exciting event exposure in the London Evening Standard and a video with Daniel Radcliffe featured on London Tonight.
Don’t forget to RSVP for the fabulous Debut Contemporary Private View.
I’m also delighted to tell you that I’ve finished my first large scale piece from my ‘Once, in a Dream Series’ (after several weeks of beading and making constant changes), I’m very happy with her! She’ll be up to view in Debut from Wednesday.
‘Once, In a Dream’ 2013 (60x30inches)
Mixed Media: acrylic, oil pastel, gesso and embroidery on canvas.
I was pleased to see all of the works from the ‘Coffee Art Project’ and my Barista painting which are to be auctioned off in aid of Project Waterfall online now; it’s very interesting to see every artist’s take on the theme.
After months of excitement I am now a Debut Contemporary Artist: http://www.debutcontemporary.com/cv-statement/
The big exhibition opening night will be Wednesday 5th June (7-9pm) showcasing my complete Fashion Doll collection and the works of other talented Artists (if you wish to come along please RSVP to the email address below).
It promises to be one fantastic night!
Here’s a quick snapshot of the 5 original Fashion Doll paintings which I’ve just got back from the framer ………they look fantastic in the hand painted, dirty grey wooden frames, with the dolls floating in the middle of the yellow inner frame space.
I shall have 8 framed in total, ready for exhibiting with Debut Contemporary in early June.
Think I’ll be keeping them wrapped in Clingfilm, under my bed so they remain in pristine condition……
