This is an outreach project which I’ve been working on for several weeks. The individual illustrations have been created by Tower Hamlets based community groups (including local primary schools, classes for elderly participants and a few of my own characters).
The image represents Poplar; past, present and future, from the suffragettes in East London, the current, constant redevelopment work and new high rise flats and the future of the area: further construction and jobs for local people.
I have a finalising meeting on Wednesday morning and the finished result will be put on permanent display at Poplar DLR station. This is a local station to me and it feels very exciting and a privilege to be involved in the making of something so close to home.
Hello everyone, I’m sorry for being a stranger of late…It’s been a busy few months initially finalising my MA and more recently working on a large textile collection with my agent Xander Kastroma, for our client (I can’t say too much at the moment-but all will be revealed before long).
Prints have been based around my 2015 ‘Tree of Life & Growth’ illustration which has been inspired from the fantastically quirky and somewhat naive illustrations from medieval beasturies and adapted characters (developed from my drawings at the Grant Museum of Zoo-ology UCL).
A classic, yet quirky and contemporary series to add colour, character and life to the space they are placed in…
They’ll be available to purchase from my Etsy Shop and commercial clients in a few weeks.
Anyway here’s a sneak peak of the mood boards, inspiration and concept for the cushion collection…
Hi everyone, my apologies for being so quiet of late, I have been studying for an Illustration MA and between studying and teaching I have been working non-stop up until now.
Anyway, below is a look at my first ever narrative project (a story aimed at girl’s aged 7-9) called ‘Kitty And The Crocodile’, it is a story of friendship and acceptance, designed to be emotive and sweet.
After I finish my course in September it is my aim to publish it as an e-book and a one-off, sensory textile book with hand embellishment.
It still needs a bit of development and extra pages, but here’s a trailer…

Another Piccie from a buyer showing one of my cushions looking gorgeous in situ…..I rather love this chair as well….good choice!
So as mentioned on my last blog update, I’ve been a super busy bee of late creating new pieces for an abundance of Christmas Pop-Up-Shops which are coming up.
My aim has been to create accessible lifestyle pieces and affordable Artworks so my work can be accessible to all! I have been taken out of my comfort zone…..yesterday was in The London Bead Company in Kentish Town buying pliers and all manner of Jewellery making nick nacks (the staff were friendly and extremely helpful) – useful as I have an array of painted wooden beads but unsure of the next steps.
Here’s a sneak peak at some of jewellery the pieces so far (just need a varnish and will be made in bracelets, necklaces & Kitsch earrings:
