‘Dream Abstraction’ series finished

Posted on Updated on

I’ve finished off my three Artworks which will be exhibited at the RR Gallery (Notting Hill) and auctioned at the Dream Ball on 7th March with 50% of the sale price going to charity HELP Counselling.

The event promises to be magical and unforgettable! when else would you be given the opportunity dress up as a Dream Character & join a Costume Parade & contest in the same evening as an Art auction?! and best of all it’s for such a worthy cause! The tickets are selling FAST so don’t delay and purchase yours here: http://www.luciddreamalchemy.com/page/test2

I have taken a more abstract approach to the works I have created for this….my work always has a surreal, dream-like feel and naturally dreams are never clear nor follow any logic (mine certainly don’t) so I’ve allowed them to follow their own path.

There are Influences from the Paul Klee exhibition which I saw at the Tate Modern last week.

New Series in aid of HELP Counselling

Posted on Updated on

Last week I had a meeting with psychotherapist Rina Malin to discuss my creating a series of works to be exhibited for the ‘Dream Ball’ (Notting Hill) and auctioned with 50% of sales going to ‘HELP Counselling’ of Portobello Road to help celebrate the launch of their ‘Dream Research Institute’ – a fantastic cause and well matched to my work which is created to comfort and evoke nostalgia.

The Artworks must follow the theme of ‘dreams’ (which is also a re-occurring theme in my art) I felt overcome with excitement and started my first piece this evening; I seem to be taking a more abstract approach and have great urge to use large amounts of paint…..as with all my works who knows how they will develop……I work spontaneously and my dolls are my therapy…… my Inner child let loose onto canvas.

I will post further details as my work develops:

‘Once, in a Dream’ – transition

Posted on Updated on

Here are some updates on how the first painting from my ‘Once in a Dream’ series is coming along; this piece is proving extremely time consuming due to the intricate detailing and beading onto such a large piece (60×30 inches) though admittedly I’m really enjoying spending this length of time on a single piece and the therapeutic qualities of intricate beading.

I am going to start working on 1 or 2 more pieces for the series over the coming days so they can feed inspiration into each other. Inspired by dreams my next ideas will include elements of surreal landscapes and bizarre animal sequences.
