I’ve been working alongside a dear friend of mine, Fashion and Jewellery Designer Ani Passerelli on an exciting new project creating a jewellery range…..
The start of ‘bird nest’ necklace…..
So day three in and things are in full swing at the Christmas Live Project.
I’m having such a wonderful time meeting interesting and lovely people, being inspired by my talented fellow Artists and talking about my work and inspiration.
One thing which has constantly been commented on my customers & visitors is how well the Artists’ work compliments each other….I’m delighted to be showing alongside Artists: Anu Samarüütel & Marina Ard – whom I know through Debut Contemporary Gallery. Our Artworks work in harmony together as we all have contemporary, playful handwriting.
Me doing some Live Drawing – hand painted greeting cards
So as mentioned on my last blog update, I’ve been a super busy bee of late creating new pieces for an abundance of Christmas Pop-Up-Shops which are coming up.
My aim has been to create accessible lifestyle pieces and affordable Artworks so my work can be accessible to all! I have been taken out of my comfort zone…..yesterday was in The London Bead Company in Kentish Town buying pliers and all manner of Jewellery making nick nacks (the staff were friendly and extremely helpful) – useful as I have an array of painted wooden beads but unsure of the next steps.
Here’s a sneak peak at some of jewellery the pieces so far (just need a varnish and will be made in bracelets, necklaces & Kitsch earrings:
‘Duck Friend’ – Earrings
Mini Hand painted Vase
I’m also going to create a few small Artworks and Ltd Edition Giclee Prints
‘The Tree Of Life & Growth’
Here are two of the events You’ll find me at alongside a host of talented creatives:
Live Christmas Project (6th- 21st December 14)
Also taking part in this exciting project are talented Artists (& Friends)
Anu Samarüütel & Marina Ard I’ve exhibited alongside both at Debut Contemporary Gallery and absolutely adored the work they create: Anu’s striking, colourful Illustrations & products fill me with joy and Marina’s intricate late Prints & Paintings are stunning!
So I was delighted when Marina asked me if I’d be interested in taking part in this project
The reason being that I have some exciting Christmas Ventures coming up in November & December. I’m making colour co-ordinates for each series. I’ll be painting a range of wooden shapes, varnishing and turning into bespoke jewellery….as each bead is hand painted it’s taking quite some time…..but It’s so much fun watching the collection grow!
Including the Cult House Christmas Pop Up Shop- Friday 28th & Saturday 29th November:
Sixteen day Christmas Pop Up shop in Kensington….Images & dates etc coming soon……..
Excited to see my Milena Kovanovic jewellery illustration featured in Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration.
I started the Illustration by hand in fountain pen, and added colour in Photoshop.
I have used neutral colours to give the Illustrations a sophisticated dge to match the beautiful Milenak Jewellery range and its clientele.
Gorgeous Illustrations from Laura Hickman aswell:
